I am working on a new game, called Museum of Scrambled Art.
Goal of the game is to unscramble art you see in the art galery, and while doing so, discover lesser known artist, acquire a bit of knowledge about the art you are seeing. Chill, and not very challenging (but I hope not too easy) puzzle game.
Here is a small gameplay preview1:
Goals
For my first game — Laser Panic! — I had to learn the ropes: learn what are the tools for iPad for game development, learn Swift (and Playgrounds), SpriteKit.
With this one I want to learn a couple of things:
how to make small, but complete puzzle games,
how to balance the difficulty, in a complete set of levels,
how to do better marketing with the game (as you can see, at least I am trying, I started a blog now, instead of after release)
(optional) maybe figure out a better pricing model for my games
I feel like a game with a relatively simple core mechanic should be a good fit for this.
Inspiration
Some of the inspiration for this game came from Sokobond Express, which was not only quite relaxing, but also educational, with their explanations after puzzles.
The sliding puzzle idea was an evolution of the prototype I made: I actually wanted to make a game about connecting people, who are apart standing on a grid, and the way you would do that is to slide whole rows or columns. Turned out it was either too easy to solve a puzzle, or too hard, so in the end I figured that mechanic could stay, but instead we would try to arrange entire painting, like in Rubik’s cube with colored faces.

If you find this at all interesting, and you are willing to give a try you can join a public beta on Test Flight:
I would greatly appreciate if you can also give me some feedback. If you want to stay up to date with the development, you can subscribe:
Until next time!
Game is designed to be played vertically on your phone, but I plan to add iPad support. I just have not yet fixed all the visual bugs yet.
Will it also be available on android?
